I'm rating this for the beefiness sauce, which is simplicity itself and lent a wonderful season to my stri-fry. I used dissimilar veggies, no h2o chestnuts or cabbage, and omitted the 4-minute simmer because we like our veggies tender-crisp and there was no liquid in the pan anyway. Because I was using dryer veggies I should accept doubled the sauce and will from now on. The sauce makes a great base for beefiness stir-fry and couldn't be easier. I wasn't serving vino tonight, and so used mirin for the wine and it worked well. The sauce is my new base recipe for beefiness stir-fry. Thanks!

So, I actually changed this recipe quite a bit, I tripled the sauce and substituted Apple tree juice for the white wine. Added ii teaspoons garlic powder to the sauce. I made this without Beef. Instead of coating beef with the sauce I coated my veggies after I let the veggies cook just a flake (almost a min or and so) then permit them cook until soft. Poured over brown rice was fantastic!
08/15/2012
Very good sauce. I made it with a frozen bag of vegetables and added fresh greenish beans. I also added fresh Ginger and garlic to the pan earlier cooking the beef. Hubby and ii out of three kids loved information technology...that's a keeper!
11/20/2012
I really like this recipe. Although, I accept changed and added a few things.I did non add frozen veggies, I similar them fresh. And I accept added to some mushroom soy sauce and Hoi-sin sauce, just a few tsp. for some more than gustatory modality. I simply tried information technology with water and I will try it today with Apple juice :) Also, I did non add water chestnuts because I did not take whatever. Lastly, I doubled the ginger and added garlic. SO Skillful! Cheers!

Bang-up Recipe!! Information technology was Delish!! I added colorful peppers and a few mushrooms instead of the water chestnuts, bok choy, and Chinese cabbage.. I besides added just a splash of teriyaki marinating sauce to the sauce mixture for the steak.. To make it easier to store, I just picked up a stir fry veggie mix from the produce section at Walmart.. My family enjoyed it!! Will try again.. And once again!!
11/13/2014
I substituted Brown Sugar, and added a touch more ginger. Tastes wonderful, rivals whatever savory beef stir fry recipe! This will definitely become a staple recipe in our house!
07/14/2016
I just made this and it is FANTASTIC! The only change I made was, instead of fresh ginger, I used the equivalent in dry ginger. I don't think it hurt. According to my dry ginger, one/4 teaspoon of dry ginger equals 1 tsp of fresh. I seriously don't think information technology made a departure as my event was incredibly tasty.
04/xiii/2016
Groovy sauce.. I used chocolate-brown sugar and added some minced garlic when frying the veggies. Used the veggies I had.. Onions, greenish beans, bong pepper and mushrooms. Another quick tasty meal for my family unit!!
01/12/2014
Yummy!! Even works with craven ;)
01/14/2015
I contradistinct the recipe a little, in that I did not employ bok choy or water chestnuts because I am not a fan of either. I likewise added more broccoli, onions and added mixed veggies to stretch the meal. As far equally flavor, my family thought it was bland and thought it was missing something, and then I added garlic, some more than soy sauce and soyaki that I purchased from Trader Joe's. Although I contradistinct it somewhat, I will use this recipe again every bit a base.
ten/23/2013
Restaurant gustation at home! My husband and I were very pleased with this recipe. I did add 1 clove of garlic. I'g not a ginger lover, then next time I might lessen the ginger to 1 or 2 teaspoons. My husband loved it the fashion information technology was and said he wouldn't change a thing. Great recipe! Thank you!
01/17/2016
It is quite bland. Needs some spices added
10/26/2014
I'm non sure what happened. I have tried this recipe twice, exactly as written, and both times the sauce turned into a gelatinous blob. The flavor was good only I concluded upwardly scraping the sauce out while cooking the beef because it was turning into gelatin. Mayhap adding water would've helped? Likewise I used all fresh veggies and added water chestnuts.
04/25/2016
Delicious, hubby went dorsum for seconds which he never does. Thanks for sharing.
05/25/2015
The season was smashing but I only can't imagine the 10 infinitesimal prep time! Information technology took my husband and me at least30 minutes to wash and prep and the large bok choy and cabbage would not fit in our huge wok. Maybe we were supposed to apply the pocket-size bok choy. Side by side time I think I will endeavour using the frozen veggies!
11/25/2014
I added two cloves of garlic and 1tsp. five spice. skilful recipe to brand with any type of meat. Needed more than sauce.
11/04/2014
Quick, like shooting fish in a barrel , and yummy with stuff I have around the house! The longest part of the cooking time is by far the rice, then use white rice if you're in a crisis and y'all'll cut out thirty minutes. I didn't use the veggies listed hither, just it turned out amazing with broccoli, sweet potatoes, carrots and onion. I also addd fresh garlic to the marinade Yum! Will defintely star this and go on for later!
01/27/2017
Succulent! This was popular with both my audacious and picky family members. It strikes the balance of interesting, but non overwhelming flavors.
09/16/2013
This is really practiced. I have tried many different stirfry sauces and seasonings and this is definitely one of the best. I didn't use vegetable oil or cornstarch. I used the sauce more as a marinate than a sauce. If y'all want it every bit more than of a sauce, using the cornstarch is probably a good idea.
06/10/2015
This sauce is a go-to at present. I volition never make stir-fry any other mode! I always double the sauce cause its so great- add canned babycorn and take out the cabbage.
12/26/2014
My family loved this! I added a fleck of garlic pulverisation when I was cooking the vegetables.
03/12/2016
I was non a fan of this recipe. Sauce was too strong for me.
07/20/2016
Enjoyable but needs more spices added. I fifty-fifty added lots of garlic.
09/14/2016
This was awesome! The but changes I made were to add some red pepper flakes and mushrooms. No Bok Choy because it was horrible looking in the store. Will definitely put information technology in side by side time. Loved the flavors.
01/09/2014
This recipe is pretty skilful. You tin can alter the veggies with what you take on hand. The only problem tends to be the sauce. All I did was add about 1/iv cup or so of water to the pan near the terminate. If you double the sauce, I think information technology would tend to exist as well salty or too much soy sauce flavor, if you choose to use low salt soy sauce. Other than that, it'south a good recipe.
11/11/2013
WOW. This was absolutely spectacular! I'm glad I read the reviews and doubled the sauce. I added half the sauce while cooking the meat, then threw in the rest after I added the veggies back in. I added some minced garlic to the marinade and to the veggies while sauteeing. Also threw in some sliced ruby-red bell pepper with the veggies. My 10 year old daughter raved near this repast equally well. I had never tried bok choy before, and actually enjoyed the crunch and flavor it added. Asked my grocer virtually the Chinese cabbage and was directed to the Napa cabbage, glad I found information technology. All in all, this has go a new family favorite!
02/08/2015
I made each set of vegetables & beefiness separate and kept them in a warm oven, and so just combined it at the cease since my wok was not big enough for everything at once.
02/17/2015
quick and simple. not likewise spicy, but enough or ways to spice it upward to sense of taste.
x/15/2014
Really glad I tried this recipe. Tastes fresh, not artificial like purchased marinades. Put marinade in large ziploc forth with sliced beef. Squished it all effectually then put it in refrig till I needed information technology, about 1hr later. I used broccoli, carrots, snow peas, water chesnuts, and red pepper. Gotta have the minced fresh ginger; that's what makes the marinade!
eleven/05/2013
Easy and practiced. It does not tell when to put the ginger sauce in when cooking. I put it in when the meat was finished along with the veggies. It is a very good sauce.
09/06/2015
Admittedly the dish for leftover steak! Steak had no BBQ seasonings merely steak seasoning and Worcester sauce. I had no cabbage used apple juice no wine. I added more apple juice and water to ensure a sauce, in total between ane-1/2 to 2 cups of liquid. Yum yum! By using the leftover steak the cooking of the meat was bypassed. In total 40 minutes from bringing out the pans to serving! Excellent dinner for during the work week. Try this you won't exist sorry!
09/xviii/2018
We really enjoyed the recipe as directed and it was fun to make. I may try information technology with craven or basis turkey next time.
07/xx/2016
The sauce for this recipe is outstanding, will prob double adjacent time though. What can I say, I like sauce. In that location are merely two of us and the full recipe will have us eating left overs for a couple of days. Only what a great way to get your daily requirement of veg'south, and with that wonderful sauce the flavors just go along getting ameliorate.
07/17/2016
I added mushrooms as well.
07/22/2016
This is my new "go to" sauce for stir fry. It was absolutely delicious. I liked the fact that I didn't have to add any pre-fabricated sauces. The next time I am going to try substituting garlic for the ginger to make a garlic sauce. I did double the sauce but not the corn starch. Information technology was really thick so I thinned it downwardly with craven broth. I as well used one/2 low sodium soy sauce and 1/2 coconut amino (which is soy costless soy sauce and much lower in sodium). Thank you for posting this recipe. It is yummy!
07/fifteen/2016
Very practiced. Unproblematic to make.
07/twenty/2016
I minced garlic and added to the marinade which I boiled and made a sauce. I added a lot more carrots and onions to make clean out refrigerator. The bok choy at grocers were huge, maybe 2 pounds each, so I merely used one.
x/02/2014
Family loved information technology...so did I! Adjustments made: Didn't take bok choy on hand and substituted sugar for 1 tblsp of honey. Besides, used spicy soy sauce instead of the regular one for some added flare and instead of white wine, used cherry-red since it is what I had on paw. I must say....information technology turned out crawly!
06/21/2018
Used a different combination of veggies considering I just buy whatever I buy. I thinned the sauce a scrap with beef broth once the beef was cooked. Makes a thick savory sauce.
12/07/2013
Love the sauce on this! I inverse a lot of the veggies, and a couple of times used red wine instead of white and it was skillful all around! Like shooting fish in a barrel to make and super flavourful!
07/15/2016
Really good! Left out the cilantro....that's only the states....but followed the recipe for the rest. Will definitely be making once again-our kids and grandkids are gonna love this!
04/20/2018
We actually enjoyed this recipe! I had to utilise ground ginger because it's what was handy but would like to try it with fresh. Also added some crushed red pepper flakes for added flavor. Volition definitely make once again!
09/22/2016
Did not use broccoli as I don't care for it.
06/02/2015
This recipe was great and like shooting fish in a barrel to change and make unique. Instead of the suggested veggies, we simply used onions and peppers. The dish turned out great. The meat was so full of flavor. If I had to cull to do 1 thing differently, I would utilise smaller pieces of meat considering the meat i used was to pocket-sized to cut and to big to put in your mouth.
12/28/2018
Unproblematic and tasty
10/29/2015
I found the base a little thicker than I similar and added Chinese Five Spices to the base to give it an authentic asian taste. I too didn't use the bok choy or water chestnuts because I didn't accept any and added standard mandarin oranges at the end.
03/21/2016
This was super succulent. The amount of sauce was perfect (I detect that most recipes are dry for me). The bones recipe is fantastic, but I made some changes based on my ain tastes. I added a red bell pepper, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, halved. I left out the cabbage and bok choy because I think they are but sort of fillers and don't provide a ton of texture or health benefits to a dish. Lastly, I don't care at all most rice, so I used yakisoba noodles plant in the produce section. Such a tasty meal - I volition definitely try this again.
01/02/2013
Followed all the directions, except left out Chinese cabbage because I couldn't observe it. The sauce gives a very low yield in comparison to the vegetables required. And you'll need a huge skillet or frying pan. Mine was overflowing with veggies. All in all, information technology was very bland even though I had added extra minced and ground ginger, and I was disappointed since I had to buy ingredients I normally don't have.
04/20/2014
this was SO proficient! ever using what nosotros take on hand.. i used some rice cooking vino instead of white.. regular peas for the pea pods.. green onion for white.. and 2 stalks of thinly sliced celery for the water chestnuts.. regular greenish cabbage for the chinese cabbage and left out the bok choy all together as well as the sugar and cornstarch for the marinade, but added a large clove of garlic to information technology.. added about iv oz sliced mushrooms to the other veggies.. cooked the marinated beefiness commencement.. took the beef out in one case cooked.. added the leftover marinade into the wok.. then threw in the veggies.. cooked until crisp tender.. added the beef dorsum and and then added some linguine instead of the brown rice.. similar others there wasn't plenty sauce left at the end.. but the veggies and beef were moist and salty enough to go well with the pasta.. ty and so much for the recipe
04/27/2021
Nowhere does it say what to practice with the beef every bit it pertains to the marinade. Doesn't say to discard it, utilize information technology for thickening/sauce or what? There is no spice, non even garlic. This is very banal and, by comparison, is cooked backwards. Normally, the meat, onions and garlic are cooked commencement then set aside while the veggies are fried and a sauce is added last. I won't brand this every bit written again.
03/17/2017
I used chicken in identify of the beef. I turned out wonderful. I served it over Rice Noodles.
08/18/2013
Easy and very yummy!
04/02/2014
I enjoyed this recipe, the fresh ginger makes the dish for me. I used all fresh veg and added one/4 c of h2o after stir frying the veg earlier covering and simmering forthe 4 min. They were perfectly crisp tender. Thank you for a neat quick dinner.
01/09/2017
Made this with steak. It disappeared.
09/27/2016
First-class meal. I have fabricated this repast several times and it is a huge success every time. I did not utilise as much soy sauce as called for (1/iv cup less)
03/01/2018
I used the Apple juice instead of the white vino and added mushrooms. My family absolutely loved it!
07/27/2017
"O" my goodness what a wonderful dish so full of flavor, I did add a dash of fennel seed but that's all, what a yummy dish.
10/23/2012
This recipe fantastic. We cooked it exactly equally stated and it turned out wonderful.
09/30/2018
This recipe was awesome! Very like shooting fish in a barrel-to-follow directions. Yummy sauce! Thank you so much!
09/28/2017
I idea I followed the instructions quite closely, but my sauce turned to paste while stir frying the meat, and fabricated the dish wait quite horrific. The flavour was good though. Next time, I'll but toss the beef with the ginger and stir fry, then add the soy mixture final as a sauce.
08/13/2016
I made the sauce exactly every bit the recipe said and simply had vegetable stir fry every bit a side dish. I enjoyed it but found it a chip banal. Just however, my family enjoyed it and ate it all.
07/26/2018
information technology was ok.
01/xiv/2020
The title is misleading, this was quite banal. I made it as written minus the water chestnuts and was disappointed.
01/28/2022
Perfectly succulent. I used onion, garlic & pepper (red, green, yellowish, orange and crimson) instead of broccoli. Added asparagus on the side for my son!
08/23/2020
Really easy and very flavorful.
01/17/2019
I read a lot of the reviews and decided right then that the sauce would be doubled. The whole family enjoyed this to the terminate. I added extra broccoli and pea pods and omitted the bok choi and cabbage. (Not family favorites) Will definitely brand again!
09/19/2017
What I like nigh this recipe is that it makes a great base from which to experiment. No bok choy? No problem! Just toss in whatever you've got in the vegetable drawer. When I made it, I didn't even accept any broccoli. Just tossed some extra red and greenish peppers and some frozen pass in found in the bottom of the freezer. Forgot to turn on the rice cooker? No worries; 3 minutes in billing water and the rice noodles were set up. It turned out cracking. Thank you for a new favorite.
11/21/2020
Excellent recipe. I added garlic for more flavour.
02/nineteen/2016
Kitchenista Jane, baby have a bow! This recipe is wonderful. I made this today for the first time and used apple juice instead wine for the meat . It turned out bang-up. If your making a big quantity of this stir fry y'all may want to double the recipe. Be careful follow the recipe, I almost forgot to add the sugar. Thank y'all for sharing this corking recipe.
ten/xiv/2013
This is by far the best stir-fry sauce I have tried, so piece of cake! You can certainly add together whatever veggies yous have on hand- I likewise used garlic and sliced onion. I would just utilize fresh veggies though, likewise every bit double the sauce.
07/17/2016
No changes, I truly enjoyed this recipe but the way information technology is. I Volition make it again ! Thanks
02/07/2019
Kept original ingredients. Used white rice. Very tasty
02/twenty/2014
This is a proficient base. I used fresh steam in bag asian veg and steamed 2 min. I subbed 1 tbl ground ginger and added to corstarch mixture. Seared sirloin in sesame oil (reserved liquid) then added the steamed veggie and reserved sauce. And so added about a cup of water but considering we like it "saucy". Excellent! A keeper and soooo easy.
08/27/2016
I fabricated this for the first fourth dimension. It volition not be the last fourth dimension. I substituted chicken stock for the wine and left out the cabbage equally I don't like cabbage. my daughter came home from piece of work and ate some of the leftovers. she asked if we ordered from a new place. that it was much meliorate and so our usual takeout. when I told her I made information technology she made me promise to make this again. this is her new favorite
11/09/2012
This recipe was very succulent but not brown gravy as the restaurant, so I added dark-brown sauce to darken. Cheers my kids really enjoyed it with the jasmine rice.....
08/12/2019
Added extra water as sauce was too thick. Added onion for boosted flavour
ten/27/2018
Easy and good
05/03/2020
This recipe is elementary still the issue is great.
05/05/2021
Simply delicious!
01/15/2021
Wonderful stir fry!! I followed the exact recipe, only doubled the sauce based on feedback from other reviews. I also added a well-nigh 1/four teaspoon of red pepper flakes to give it a kick. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
03/07/2018
Very banal ~ missing something.
eleven/28/2018
I had to cook the veggies in two separate batches... stir constantly. Doubled the ginger... yet flavour a flake lacking. I'd suggest you increase the soy/starch mix by fifty%. I'll make information technology again!
02/21/2016
I made this with the apple juice. Mine got a gel like consistency, merely I added more apple tree juice at the end to thin information technology out. worked smashing tasted great!
08/23/2016
Excellent!! My husband is not a stir fry lover and he thought this was groovy! Used leftover grilled steak.
07/11/2017
I apologize for rating a recipe when I made changes, but I did brand the sauce more or less as directed. Yet, I did employ frozen stir fry vegetables since I had them. My family and I really enjoyed the flavor. I may add a little garlic chili sauce side by side time. Thanks for an piece of cake, delicious recipe.
01/17/2019
Liked information technology and so much , were having information technology once again !!!
03/29/2016
Loved this. Even my picky eater husband liked it. I used but pea pods, though, equally my married man won't eat many veggies. Had to use footing ginger, too, as I had no fresh in the house (1/4 tsp ground ginger to replace 1 tbsp of fresh. )
03/26/2018
The meat sauce is amazing!!
07/21/2016
Lots of great veggies and very flavorful and and then like shooting fish in a barrel to make. I would recommend marinating the beef a while commencement.
07/fifteen/2016
Rice is never served with meat and vegtables served over it. Put the stir fry in 1 bowl or plate and the rice in another.
05/08/2017
Similar LucyLove, I am rating the sauce. I had to change the vegetables to suit everyone'south tastes. Volition definitely brand this again. The sauce was a hit with everyone! Only commutation in it was using chicken stock in identify of wine. Side by side time I'thou going to endeavour Apple tree Juice
09/23/2018
Corking recipe! I used what I had—broccoli, celery, regular cabbage. And I didn't have any dry white wine then I used half cabernet and half sauvignon blanc. I likewise used merely 1 T of saccharide instead of two—absolutely no damage done. Simple and succulent recipe. I can see all kinds of means to utilize this with any ingredients I accept on paw.
x/31/2019
wonderful and quick weeknight meal! I substituted fresh snow peas, broccoli, and julienne carrots and left out all other vegetables and it was great with simply the correct amount of "sauce"
07/06/2018
This was a delicious recipe. Per other suggestions, I doubled the sauce recipe and added garlic pulverisation to taste. My married man said it was better than the restaurant stir fry!!
03/09/2019
I liked this recipe. My starting time time cooking this and I increased the book of all ingredients past 33% to get leftovers. While all was good my personal taste would accept been less soy sauce and more onions. I used riced cauliflower instead and it worked great.
03/04/2021
This was expert. The only modify I made to the sauce was substituting carbohydrate with stevia due to a sugar free diet. I used Asian frozen vegetables instead of fresh. My hubby who is a good melt also said it was skillful.
12/03/2017
A delicious piece of cake dish. I used fresh veggies and information technology turned out perfect. Would definitely recommend this recipe.
07/24/2016
Added crushed garlic and seeded chilli into marinade and used rice wine. Also used more varied mixture of veggies with less broccoli & whole large onion. I added noodles into stir fry instead of having over rice.
03/29/2020
My kids rated information technology 10/10, even my picky eater!! I doubled the recipe for ii bags of frozen stir fry veggies. I reduced the soy sauce (and used depression sodium soy sauce) to 1 1/two tbsp, used ane/4 tsp dry out ginger instead of fresh ginger, only used 1 1/two tsp corn starch and used brown sugar instead of white. I used frozen stir fry vegetables for piece of cake prep. Absolutely delicious. Will be making again and over again, thank you!!!!
